Lovehistory’s Irish Liverpool: Revealing the History of Irish Migration

As part of the Liverpool Irish Festival Lovehistory are proud to present this striking promenade performance:  Irish Liverpool. This theatrical production will take place in the stunning St Lukes Church and will commemorate those who lost their lives in the Great Famine of the 1840s. This thoughtful and captivating dramatisation will take you on a journey through the passages of Liverpool’s Irish ancestry.

You will hear the tales from an Irish immigrant woman who describes her heart breaking journey from Ireland, a Liverpool merchant debating the problem of the Irish and an activist who fought for better living conditions for those escaping the famine that destroyed thousands of lives.  You will also hear of how Irish migration impacted on Liverpool life and culture and how those legacies live on today.
